During the first week of the 2013 spring semester, ISI architecture program hosted Sant’Orsola Unveiled: Design Workshop in Florence. The weeklong program is the result of a collaboration between the Dutch University Institute for Art History in Florence, faculty at Delft University, led by Dr. Marie-Thérèse van Thoor with Dr. Hielkje Zijlstra, and Marywood University with its ISI Design Studio class taught by Arch. Franco Pisani. Students were asked to develop ideas and proposals for the urban retraining of Sant’Orsola’s block. Through a four-day design charrette, they devised on-site assignments and design proposals.
