Community Engagement – internships & practicums for credit
As part of our initiative to help students gain valuable cross-cultural experience in an international environment, we promote many opportunities for community engagement, including credit-bearing internships, volunteer work, and service learning activities. These projects give students invaluable hands-on understanding and extraordinary out-of-classroom exposure to the culture, language, and people of Italy.
The Internship & Practicum Courses are ideal for students who would like to give back to the community, to further broaden their cultural perspectives and intercultural awareness, and to see different communities from a more comparative, global standpoint all through dialogue and hands-on experience.
Community Engagement – volunteering
The numerous volunteering options available are also a rewarding way of integrating with the local community and, at the same time, improving your Italian language skills. Whether you have a passion for art history and an aptitude for leading groups; would love to participate in Florentine events and then write about your experiences; enthusiastic about working with children either in the classroom or on the playing field; you can make your contribution to Florence and engage with locals by signing up for one of ISI Florence’s carefully selected volunteering partnerships.
