ISI’s Professor Pierluca Birindelli named Docent in Sociology at the University of Helsinki

ISI’s own Pierluca Birindelli has been named a Docent in Sociology by Thomas Wilhelmsson, Chancellor of the University of Helsinki. Birindelli has been teaching the course Identity and Culture. A Narrative and Holistic Approach in the Research Master’s Degree Programme in Social Sciences (REMS), a full-time, two-year integrated study program offered by the University of Helsinki’s Department of Social Research at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The course aims to encourage the development of research tactics when observing the differences between cultural norms and the values of the individual through various mediums. Birindelli teaches a similar course, Identity and Culture in Italy, here at ISI Florence, directing students’ focus to the specifics of Italian culture and identity. We congratulate Pierluca on his success with the University of Helsinki!
