A Collaboration: Humanism and Tuscan Universities of the Past

Prestigious Italian publishing house Le Lettere has recently published a collection of conference proceedings, co-sponsored by our own ISI Florence in conjunction with Georgetown University, Università di Pisa, and The Society for Renaissance Studies. Umanesimo e Università in Toscana: 1300-1600 comprises essays, written in English and Italian, focused on the relationship between humanism and Tuscan university systems during the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Mimicking the paneling style of the 25-26 May 2011 international conference, the book divides twelve articles into four sections: History, Medicine, Law, Literature and Philosophy. Prof. Stefano U. Baldassarri (Academic Director and Dean of Students, ISI Florence) has edited the essays and penned the introduction together with Fabrizio Ricciardelli and Enrico Spagnesi.
