ISI Florence Visits UMD School of Architecture

During their recent trip to Washington, D.C., ISI Florence architecture professors Carlo Achilli and Daniela Sinicropi were invited to the UMD School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. As part of the Master’s review jury, on May 17, 2017 they participated in the evaluation of projects on urban planning and technological innovations. Carlo and Daniela then gave a presentation of the ISI Florence Architecture Program to prospective students, followed by a Q&A session. At the end of the day, Dr. Brian Kelly (Director, UMD School of Architecture) invited both ISI Florence professors to participate in his departmental faculty meeting.

On May 19, Professor Joseph Scholten (Associate Director for International Affairs, UMD) led Carlo and Daniela on a campus tour, introducing them to the new Architecture Department Dean, Dr. Sonia Hirt. The Associate Vice President for International Affairs, Dr. Ross Lewin, then accompanied Carlo and Daniela to see the UMD flagship international program and its new facilities, with classrooms built to give students a groundbreaking digital learning experience. All in all, a great and intense visit!
