Description
Whether you wish to start a new business or understand the way that a business works this course provides the invaluable tools that you will need. From the development of the idea through to legal and financial requirements, this course will guide your development, with practical examples. Set in the context of Florence where we meet local Entrepreneurs and understand the cultural environment, that can then be applied to our own domestic or global business environments.

The course affords the students the opportunities to test their skills in analyzing the business environment, identifying opportunities, deriving competitive advantage and forming business plans. The course will include a full day trip to Modena to review the life of Enzo Ferrari at the Ferrari Museum and Entrepreneurship in the 14th generation of a Family Business at Balsamic Vinegar producer Giuseppe Giusti.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course students should be able to:

– Critically evaluate the business environment to define business opportunities.
– Understand the complexity of Business startups in the international context.
– Develop an understanding of the students’ own Entrepreneurial drive.
– Produce business plans prepared to present to investors, partners and other stakeholders.
– Employ skills to be able to deal with business growth, scalability and divestiture.
