An Italian Recipe for your Thanksgiving Weekend: Tiramisu

Though Thanksgiving isn’t a holiday in Italy, Italians aren’t strangers to holidays filled with food and family! We’d therefore like to share a typical recipe with you and your loved ones for the holiday weekend.

Ingredients:

For the Tiramisu recipe you will need the following:
300g of Savoiardi Cookies (Ladyfingers)
500 g of Mascarpone Cheese
4 Eggs
100 g of sugar
Espresso coffee (300 g is suggested)
Brandy (optional, and according to your taste)
Cocoa powder

Prep Time:
Approximately 3o minutes, and serves up 6 guests.

Instructions:
01 – prep your espresso so that it begins to cool while you take care of the egg and mascarpone mix.
02 – Beat the egg yolks until light, and slowly beat in ½ cup of sugar, then the mascarpone cheese.
03 – In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until they are thick and fluffy. Fold this gently into the cheese mixture.
04 – Add the brandy to the cooled coffee, and carefully dip in ladyfingers one at a time just until the outside of the cookie is barely damp. Arrange cookies side by side in a dish large enough to hold 12 cookies flat. After the first 12 are layered, spread 1/2 of the cheese mixture on top.
05 – Arrange another layer of espresso-dipped-cookies and cream on top of the first and then sprinkle the top with cocoa powder. Refrigerate for several hours before serving.
06 – Enjoy! Buon appetito!
