This semester, University of Connecticut students from the Department of Art and Art History will be creating drawings and paintings of various locations throughout the city. Their goal is to combine architectural accuracy and daily street life in order to produce works that embody the uniqueness of color, light, and space that is particular to Florence. “Nothing enhances our understanding of the history of perspective more than being in this city,” says UConn Prof. Deborah Dancy, who teaches this drawing and painting class at ISI Florence as part of a five-course studio arts track.
