ISI Florence Spring 2017 students will have a new opportunity: volunteer in one of the most beautiful public libraries in the world. The Riccardiana Library hosts a treasure of manuscripts and priceless volumes, including rare printed books and documents, such as the first translation of the Quran into Italian and the letter Christopher Columbus sent to King Ferdinand to describe his journey to the Indies! Moreover, the palace itself is a masterpiece, enriched in the XVII century with painted mirrors and furniture, and decorated with frescos by Baroque painter Luca Giordano.
Students will help promote the library’s collection to make it available to the English-speaking audience.
