From Sunday, February 1 to Saturday, February 6 seemingly different architectural cultures met to share ideas and visions about public spaces.
Forty-three students from the Florence University Department of Architecture, the Delft University of Technology – Heritage and Architecture Honors Program, and ISI Florence (with its architecture partners Marywood University and University of Virginia), were involved in a design workshop where they were asked to reconsider the image and the role of a Florentine square, Piazza del Carmine.
While working at their design tasks, students had the unique opportunity to share thoughts, habits, and techniques, with peers and tutors from other schools.
The workshop ended with a public presentation at the NIKI, the Dutch Institute of Art History, and a trip to the nearby town of Siena.
