The main goal of this field trip was to make ISI Florence students better aware of the richness and diversity of Tuscan history, culture, literature, food, and landscape. At the same time, we wanted to give them a taste of its people’s hospitality by going to a not-so-obvious, yet fascinating destination: Bibbiena!
Founded in 979, Bibbiena preserves its typical medieval structure, consisting of old palaces, cobbled streets, and towers. Visiting Bibbiena is like travelling back in time to discover old Italy in one of its most beautiful country landscapes: the Casentino.
The day trip included visits to Palazzo Dovizi, Teatro Dovizi, and a local brewery.
The visit was organized by ISI Florence lecturers Prof. Emanuela Agostini, Dr. Roberto Caccavo, and Prof. Carlo Lorini, with the support of Prof. Rodolfo Rivas (Family Business).
