Our Italian Department professors, Serena Baldini and David Marini – in collaboration with their ISI Florence colleagues Emanuela Agostini, Diego Bertelli, Enrico Cecconi, and Catia Santi – have authored a brand new textbook for students learning Italian language and culture.
The book, published by Firenze University Press this past July, is titled “VORREI. Corso di lingua italiana di livello elementare 1. Libro di testo e libro degli esercizi“ and consists of a textbook and a workbook.
VORREI is specially conceived and designed for absolute beginners who study Italian for one semester in Florence. As such, it is meant to best meet the specific needs of elementary students and improve their motivation. To attain this goal, VORREI follows a strong communicative approach, providing a wide range of activities that help delve into the real, everyday contexts where Italian is spoken and used.
