On March 17-22, 2016 ISI Florence Director Stefano Baldassarri and Arezzo City Councillor Marcello Comanducci paid an official visit to Dujiangyan (Sichuan province, China). The goal of their visit was to promote a partnership between these two cities. As we wrote in our April issue, ISI Florence has served as liaison between Arezzo and Dujiangyan from the start. We announced that the Chinese authorities would visit both our institute and Arezzo in the summer. This they did on July 1-3, when the Dujiangyan delegation came to Florence for a one-day tour of our facilities and the city before moving on to Arezzo for the rest of their stay. During the tour of Palazzo Rucellai the Lab. Brain Design team (Donatella and Valentina Downey) presented a series of workshop projects that the two cities may launch to favor a fruitful exchange in various business sectors. After an intense weekend in Arezzo filled with meetings and official events, the mayors (Alessandro Ghinelli and He Weikai) signed this most promising partnership that ISI Florence is proud of having made possible.
