Post-graduate students from across the humanities (art history, classics, history, Italian studies…) meet again in Florence in June for the third annual Translating the Past program, coordinated by Prof. Stefano U. Baldassarri (Academic Director, ISI Florence). This interdisciplinary workshop is a matter of great pride for us at ISI. It is innovative and productive and our teachers are able to introduce students to the unique manuscript collections of the major libraries and archives of Florence. Following a series of seminars on codicology, paleography and philology, students hone their reading, transcription and cataloguing skills to further their own research projects. The international team of scholars teaching this year include Prof. Antonella Ghignoli (Università La Sapienza, Rome), Dr. Paul Gwynne (The American University of Rome) and Dr. David Rundle (Corpus Christi College, Oxford).
