During the Fall semester of 2014 ISI Italian Language professors David Marini and Serena Baldini, with the  support of ISI member of staff Serena Giorgi (Coordinator for Community Engagement and Volunteering), launched a new cultural project in collaboration with Laura Baggiani, English professor at the “Giulio Douhet” Air Force Academy in Florence.
Students from both institutes met at Palazzo Rucellai and  had the chance to get to know each other. Several of them have established a friendship and are still in touch here in Florence, meeting outside the classroom.
The main focus and the ultimate goal of this cultural project is not simply to practice the spoken language, but to share culture, ideas, feelings, points of view. In other words, to share knowledge in the broadest sense.
Two ISI students, Leah Haines (Rutgers University) and Corey Milstein (University of Melbourne), also participated in English classes at the Air Force Academy, explaining the  American and Australian educational systems in an interactive exchange of questions and answers.
