Lecture by students of the James Madison University’s MA in Political Science: “Political-Economic Dimension of the Transatlantic Relations: The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). What is at stake?

In mid-November, we participated in a seminar with two James Madison graduate students. The two students presented a lecture regarding the transatlantic trade and investment partnership (TTIP). With the two students, we discussed the different sides to the argument of passing the TTIP. Their seminar was very appropriate to what we have been learning in class. We discussed the transatlantic relationship between the US and the European Union. We viewed the TTIP through an American lens, being that the US is pro-TTIP and helpful to the economy. Europeans on the other hand are skeptical to the US’s food safety policy. The students were vey knowledgeable and provided us with a stimulating discussion. The discussion validated our curriculum and what we have taken away from Professor Paoli’s class about the introduction to the European Union.
