ISI Florence Alumna Awarded Fullbright Scholarship

ISI alumna Tracy Cosgriff (Special Track: Translating the Past, 2013) has recently been awarded the 2014-2015 Fulbright U.S. Study Award. As a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Virginia, in her research, Tracy seeks to redefine Raphael’s Roman projects through the lens of classical and early modern texts. Under the guidance of Dr. David Summers, Tracy completed her master’s thesis in 2012 on perspectival harmonies in Raphael’s Stanza della Segnatura. Her dissertation likewise makes the Stanza its focus and examines the relationship between theories of rhetoric and Raphael’s monumental frescoes. As a Fulbright scholar, Tracy looks forward to returning to Italy, where she will join the academic communities in Florence and Rome and will continue to put to use last summer’s invaluable training received at ISI in palaeography, philology, and codicology.
