About the Course
Gershom Scholem (1897-1982) was a prominent figure in the academic world, particularly in the field of Qabbalah studies. He achieved significant success with his books, many of which were translated and reprinted. Following his passing, a substantial collection of his letters was published. Even today, 40 years after his physical departure, his work continues to inspire and accompany students in his lectures.
Instructor
The course will be conducted by Prof. Saverio Campanini, who is a Hebrew language and literature teacher at the University of Bologna. His research primarily focuses on the history of Hebrew mysticism, with a particular emphasis on the Renaissance period. He has also contributed significantly to the critical edition of various Hebrew Kabbalistic texts and their Latin translations, along with numerous translations and introductions to Gershom Scholem’s works.
