On May 28, 2015 students from the Penn State University HDFS (Human Development and Family Studies) “Early Childhood in Italy” program traveled south of Florence to the town of Arezzo to visit the Convitto Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele II, an elementary and junior high school. Upon arrival, they were warmly greeted by the children singing the school’s anthem.
Our students had the opportunity to actually teach an English class to these young learners. Some taught songs and games, while others helped the junior high school children practice their English vocabulary skills: a formative experience that ISI Florence is proud to promote and facilitate.
