The television program Échappées Belles, also known as Beautiful Excursions, is a French travel series shown on France 5 and TV5MONDE Europe. Each episode runs for about ninety minutes and takes viewers through a city, a region, or a country, with attention to its landscapes, cultural heritage, and to the people who work every day to protect its natural and cultural resources.

In the episode dedicated to Tuscany, the program offers a brief look at an educational activity from the ISI Florence course Environmental Marine Biology and Sustainability. The project, created in collaboration with the World Biodiversity Association and centered on the role of the sea as a natural barrier that fosters endemism and terrestrial biodiversity, was carried out in the protected wetland area of Mola on the Island of Elba in May 2024.
