ISI Florence is pleased to announce that the proceedings of the international conference that was organized last March with Kanazawa University, Società di Studi Giuseppe Castiglione, the Istituto Universitario Olandese di Storia dell’Arte, and the Fondazione Italia Giappone have just been published by Casa Editrice Le Lettere. 

Edited by Stefano U. Baldassarri (Director, ISI Florence) and sponsored both by our institute and Kanazawa (which is also an ISI Abroad Consortium member), the volume gathers articles by Italian and Japanese scholars. 

These articles, which have been written in either English or Italian, are prefaced by Prof. Baldassarri’s introductory essay on East-West relations from classical antiquity to the XVIII century. They cover a wide range of topics, from art, commerce, and politics to history, philosophy, and religion.
