The UConn College of Agriculture and Natural Resources invites its alumni (and guests) to participate in a unique experience in Florence during fall 2014. This alumni trip is designed for those with interests in nutrition, food, agriculture, and health.
UConn and ISI faculty will lead a 10-day program to provide a true Tuscan experience in the world’s most beautiful olive oil region during the start of the harvest season. This alumni experience is different because participants will experience food and agriculture-related activities typically not accessible to American tourists. UConn and ISI faculty will lead the group in classroom activities and visits to farms and festivals. Our goal is to go beyond the typical tourist offers and immerse our alumni and guests in a more real and true experience of the Tuscan food systems. While we have planned full and partial day activities and excursions, we also allow time for alumni to take a breath, relax, and enjoy the beautiful city life in Florence. Alumni will also have the opportunity to share experiences with the UConn CANR undergraduates who will be participating in the fall sustainable agriculture program at ISI.
