Last week, Professor Stefano Corazzini delivered the third and final lecture in the Cea Capa Fall 25 series, Medici in Love, at Palazzo Galli Tassi in Florence.
Blending history with intrigue, this lecture uncovered the passions, mysteries, and power dynamics that shaped the Medici family and Renaissance Florence. It was an engaging exploration of how love and ambition intertwined in one of the most fascinating eras of Italian history.
Following the event, we spoke with Prof. Corazzini, who shared the following words of gratitude: “A Medici in Love was welcomed with great enthusiasm, and so was I. My thanks go to Cea Capa for the invitation and organization, to all the participants, and to my friend Prof. Clive Woollard (ISI Florence) – with whom I have explored the secrets of the Medici family many times – who introduced me with care and affection. Heartfelt thanks to all and ISI Florence for their support.”
Stefano Corazzini holds a degree in architecture from the University of Florence and a master’s in the history of architecture from the University of Roma Tre. For years, he’s worked at Palazzo Vecchio in Florence as a cultural mediator and, thanks to this role, has had the privilege of getting to know Francesco I intimately through his private Studiolo and other treasures housed in the emblematic palace. He is a professor at ISI Florence, teaching the following courses: Survey and Drawing: Mapping Florence Architecture; Cultural Engagement Practicum Tour Guide for the City Hall Museum; Advanced Architectural Design Studio.
