And so, the countdown begins

In less than a month we will be back home so it is important to take advantage of your last week before finals.

Eat
We have less than three weeks left. If you haven’t tried that one restaurant you’ve been talking about all semester then now is the time to do it. This might be your last time to experience the local cuisine for quite a while, so try anything and everything that you haven’t yet.

Take Pictures
Everyone should have many pictures by now, but what’s the matter with a couple more? Pictures are the perfect way to help share your memories with everyone back home, and years from now you can will back and reminisce on the best experiences that you had.

Gifts
Who doesn’t like gifts? We will be arriving back in the U.S just in time for Christmas, and who wouldn’t like authentic Italian merchandise straight from the streets of Florence? Florence is known for its stores so why not do your Christmas shopping while here in Florence for all the people back home (don’t forget a little something for yourself after all the hard work you’ve done this semester).

Some things you should check off your Florence bucket list before leaving, if you haven’t already:

  • Watch the sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo
  • Visit the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral and climb the Duomo
  • Climb the bell tower
  • Visit the Baptistery
  • Visit the Santa Croce church where Michelangelo is buried
  • See the David in the Galleria dell’Accademia
  • Visit the Uffizi Gallery (where paintings such as the Birth of Venus and La Primavera are located)
  • Visit the Boboli Gardens
  • Visit the Mercato Centrale
  • Try aperitivo
  • Go to a soccer game
