Professional Fashion Writing COMM430 comes to ISI Florence!

PROFESSIONAL FASHION WRITING COMM 430 COMES TO ISI FLORENCE!!  STUDENTS VISIT THE WORLD FAMOUS PITTI FASHION SHOW AT THE CITY FORTRESS!!

For the first time at ISI and in fact, first time for any American universities, a course is being given which takes full advantage of Florence as an absolute world fashion center. Twice a year in June and January, thousands of professionals in every part of the fashion world descend on Florence to meet each other, see collections, place orders and in general, do what world fashion leaders do.  Before this class, there was no academic entry point for students interested in Communications, Journalism, Creative Writing, Marketing, Public Relations, Art and Design.

Now this select group of ISI students have been studying and reading the very best American fashion coverage and criticism, doing their own creative work, and soaking in all that Florence has to offer of high style.  This is what the city is about!

The highpoint was June 18 when they entered with special permission to the main show always closed to the public, but open to them. They interviewed and blogged, and in general filled their eyes with incredible avant garde clothes and accessories that are years away from appearing for sale in the US, but now are known to them. A great chance to dress up Italian style and polish social skills that no other American students have had!

It is a truly unique opportunity to add this experience to a resume and talk about it at an interview. This is first-class education on the scene, at the very spot of global and cultural learning.  ISI has every hope to be offering this again in June 2016 and will be keeping readers up to date on how to apply and join this exciting and beautiful extra level of study abroad in COMM 430 in FASHION IN FLORENCE!
